About the role
We’re seeking experienced, compassionate, and adaptable Registered Nurses across a range of specialties to join a respected health system in Fairbanks, Alaska on a three-year contract.
As an RN, you’ll play a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes. You’ll work in a facility known for its strong nurse-to-patient ratios, trauma care excellence, and commitment to continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care in alignment with behavioral health protocols and therapeutic standards
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor vital signs, and oversee treatments including IV therapy when clinically indicated
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to assess mental health needs and implement individualized care plans
- Document psychiatric evaluations, nursing interventions, and patient progress with accuracy and timeliness
- Respond to psychiatric crises and medical emergencies, performing critical interventions such as de-escalation techniques and emergency procedures
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, coping strategies, and discharge planning to support long-term wellness
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, safety procedures, and regulatory guidelines, including those specific to behavioral health environments
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- NCLEX-RN successfully passed (or NCLEX study is in progress as a minimum)
- English proficiency (certification or native fluency)
- Minimum 24 months of recent acute care experience
- Willingness to relocate to Alaska for a minimum of 3 years
