Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust are proud to have a Brand New, State of the Art hospital as our new patient centred care giving offering for our local residents.

 

Our new acute hospital, the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH), opened in October 2024 and provides cutting edge care to our local population from first class, purpose-built premises which are flooded with natural light. The development of the new hospital will play an important role in the regeneration of the wider area and in improving the lives of local people and reducing health inequalities.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic compassionate and self-motivated Midwifes to join the brand new midwife-led birthing unit, 2 maternity wards and anti natal service programs in the new  Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) or to work in the community with the hospital as your base. As a member of our Midwifery team you will strive to give outstanding care and provide the very best to our patients ensuring a positive experiences and outcomes.

What we need from you:

  • You must be a Registered Midwife on the NMC Professional Register
  • Have experience working in the UK as a Midwife
  • Continued CPD to maintain your ability to practice

 

Your duties will include:

  • Act as the professional lead for low risk women, promoting the normal birthing process
  • Deliver culturally competent midwifery care
  • Monitor maternal and fetal well being in pregnancy
  • To promote the uptake and provision of parent education to help parents to make and effective and confident transition to parenthood
  • Assess and make appropriate referral of women for specialist counselling and support as appropriate, for example fetal anomaly screening, bereavement, sexual health, vulnerable and disadvantaged women; young mothers, refugees, the homeless, those living with domestic violent and those with psychological problems
