About the role

We are seeking experienced, compassionate, and adaptable Intensive Care Registered Nurses to join a respected health system in Fairbanks, Alaska, on a three‑year contract.

As an ICU RN, you will play a vital role in delivering high‑acuity, evidence‑based care while working collaboratively with intensivists and multidisciplinary teams. This facility is known for excellent nurse‑to‑patient ratios, strong trauma and critical care services, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver direct, high‑acuity patient care in alignment with ICU protocols and evidence‑based standards

  • Administer critical medications, monitor complex vital signs, and manage advanced therapies including ventilators, IV infusions, and hemodynamic support

  • Collaborate with intensivists, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to assess patient conditions and implement tailored care plans

  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly

  • Respond rapidly to life‑threatening emergencies, performing advanced procedures such as code response, airway management, and resuscitation

  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and post‑discharge care to support recovery and informed decision‑making

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • NCLEX‑RN passed (or actively preparing)

  • English language proficiency

  • Minimum 24 months of recent acute care experience

  • Willingness to relocate to Alaska for at least three years
