We are on an active search for dedicated and passionate General Medicine Consultants to join our client’s dynamic healthcare service. This is a unique opportunity to expand your professional horizons while making a significant impact on patient lives in New Zealand. 

What will you be doing in this role? 
 
We are seeking dedicated General Medicine Consultants who can fulfil the following responsibilities:

• Patient Care: Overseeing the care of inpatients admitted with acute medical problems. This includes diagnosing and managing a wide range of medical conditions.
• Supervision: Supervising junior medical staff, including registrars and house officers, and providing guidance and support as needed.
• On-Call Duties: Being available on-call to provide advice and support for junior staff, which can vary in frequency depending on the hospital and patient volume.
• Ward Rounds: Conducting inpatient ward rounds, typically after acute admitting days and on at least two regular days during the week.
• Outpatient Clinics: Holding between two and four general outpatient clinics per week, and possibly participating in specialty clinics or private practice.
• Teaching and Training: Involvement in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, as well as continuing professional development (CPD) activities.
• Management Responsibilities: Engaging in non-clinical work such as management responsibilities and administrative tasks.
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Working effectively with other health professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

What are the requirements for this role? 

 You will need to be a registered Consultant and have experience working in General Medicine. 

• Excellent communication and time management skills. 
• Meet the English Language requirements set out by the New Zealand Medical Board.
• Meet the requirements of one of the New Zealand Doctor registration pathways.
• Primary Medical Degree must be listed on the World Directory of Medical Schools
• Must have Post Graduate Qualification in Medicine

• Airport Transfers: Airport transfer to accommodation on arrival up to a cost of $300.
• Professional Body Registration Assistance: We’ll guide you through the process of registering with the New Zealand Professional Body. Visa Application Support: Navigating visa applications can be complex, but our team is here to provide all the help you need. 
• IELTS/OET Reimbursement (if applicable): If required, we’ll reimburse the cost of your IELTS or OET examination.
